With a young child and a jet-setting wife, Orlando Bloom needs to be contactable at all times. In a recent trip to LA, he opted for a phone big enough to ensure he doesn’t miss any part of the conversation. It may also be a tool to keep paparazzi a clear distance away! In the below image it’s worn as a scarf for easy access… will this catch on?
Orlando was snapped out shopping with a red handset which is more akin to a landline receiver, rather than a sleek, light and portable number. This novelty device is designed to be plugged into most mobiles.
The Retro Handset also claims to reduce up to 99 per cent of radiation emitted by regular phones – so he may have had his health in mind. There are plenty of studies that indicate that we should keep mobiles away from our brains, but what about other parts of our body? Hands, Abdomen and butt cheeks should be excluded! Who knows what type of damage the phone is doing by staying in his pocket. Maybe someone needs to do a study on that!
Fashion – The statement device stood out against 35-year-old Orlando’s casual attire of jeans, a black T-shirt and black jacket.

Back to the phone – it appears this little retro number is the latest celebrity craze. In September, Jamie Lee Curtis chattered away on a bright purple handset while using her mobile. Also, malebox favourites such as Eva Longoria, Ryan Gosling, Sam Faiers, Lenny Kravitz and David Hasselhoff (yes the HOFF) have also been spotted with the devices.
